Understanding Spider-Man 2 (2004) | Dealing With Your Mental Health

Spider-Man 2 is probably the best spider-man movie we have received.

What Sam Raimi created is a story that peels back the layers of complexity and shows us what a superhero must go through to be a hero.

How sacrifice is made when the greater good is at stake.

And through the lens of Spider-Man 2 we get to understand what it means to be a hero more than the first movie.

Because what this movie teaches us is that no matter what, no matter if you're an average joe on the street or a superhero. Life will suck.

Peter Parker makes many sacrifices for the greater good.

His love for Mary-Jane, his friendship with Harry Osborne, his job, and his education all suffer because Peter has to maintain his life as spider-man.

Protecting those that cannot protect themselves.

But through the countless disappointments and him himself becoming unreliable to the people closest to him.

Peter must make a decision and decide whether being spider-man can coexist with being Peter.

Through that dark cloud in his mind comes resentment to the great responsibility he has been bestowed.

And through that Peter loses his powers because his mind and resolve isn’t clear.

He doesn’t know whether he can be Spider-Man.
