The Menu directed by Mark Mylod and starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes, Nicholas Hoult, and many more is a sumptuous delight that far exceeded my first thoughts going in.
A horror that is more a comedy and will bring laughter from uncomfortable moments to a one line delivery.
A cast performance as stellar as the cast itself, The Menu might go down as the best movie of the year so far.
A fun way to tell this kind of horror story. The woman trapped in a place full of people trying to kill her, think of movies like ready or not or the hunt.
This is that type of story but told in such a concise way that just like the chef’s menu this is precise and to the point without ever leaving the audience hungry for more.
The Menu is just a fun time. It’s not being too clever, it’s not being pretentious which it easily could have with the style it uses to tell the story.
Mark Mylod balances all the ingredients he has to use to construct a movie that is sweet, sour and savoury all at the same time.
The Menu deserves an 8.3 out of 10
